"Be the change you want to see in this world. And feel proud to be an Indian." With this thought, Delhi Public School, GBN organised "Unity in Diversity: Republic Day Celebrations" from January 17- 19, 2019 wherein the students of classes III- V participated with great enthusiasm and fervour. A total of 830 students came together to honour the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950. Shri Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, National Spokesperson BJP, Shri Shailendra Mishra, City Magistrate- Noida and Shri Sudhir Walia, President of Rotary Club Noida were the Chief Guests of the show. Col. & Mrs V.N. Thapar, Mr Vineet Nayyar, Pro- Vice Chairman of the School, Ms Reva Nayyar, Former IAS Officer and Member, School Managing Committee and Ms Smita Singh, Joint Commissioner- Income Tax were the Guests of Honour. Parent Representatives and other Esteemed Guests also graced the occasion. The function started with the National Anthem followed by a patriotic song ‘Bharat Vande Mataram’. Students of class V showcased the strength of the three wings of the Indian military: Indian Army, Navy and Air force. Then, the tableaux of different states: Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Odisha, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab exhibited the diversity of our country. They displayed the unique culture and traditions of different states. The entire programme was planned and executed by the students under the supervision and guidance of teachers. Inspiring words of eminent guests and our respected Principal ma’am, Mrs. Indira Kohli, motivated the students to continue working hard towards their goals for a bright future. The programme culminated with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the students.
