The School achieved yet another milestone by successfully organizing the first Intra School MUN (Model United Nations) on January 18, 2017. The students were enthralled to be a part of an extravagant platform for debating international issues, drafting resolutions to combat issues, and to socialize.
The MUN focused on getting more and more acquainted with the Model UN system, through the usage of the two simplest MUN committees, UN General Assembly, and All India Political Parties' Meet. The former allowed students to act as representatives of an international government, and the latter, as a famous national political leader.
The event saw a participation of 50 students from classes VIII to XI, the majority of which were first timers. Students learnt a lot from this first MUN experience which served as a stepping stone for participation in the many other MUNs to come.
Heated debate took place in both the committees and the delegate of China won the Best Delegate award for UNGA, and Shri Narendra Modi winning the Best Delegate Award for AIPPM.
Reporters from the International Press covered both committees and reported every single major point in the speeches given by the delegates. The Principal Ms Indira Kohli appreciated the efforts of the students and the Social Science Department and congratulated them of the success of the conference.
DPSGBNMUN experience created a lifetime memory for all the young diplomats while preparing them for such inter school events.
